Route introduction
Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway (G40) is an important national east-west expressway. It starts in Shanghai and ends in Xi'an, Shaanxi, crossing the Yangtze River Economic Belt and Northwest China, and is a strategic transport corridor connecting East China, Central China and Northwest China. The whole line uses a two-way four-, six- or eight-lane expressway standard, with a design speed of 80-120 km/h. Bridge and culvert design load is highway Class I. The road network is dense and freight traffic is busy, providing significant support for regional logistics and economic development.
